Mid Market Senior Underwriter - Property & Liability – Existing Business

A bit about the job

You’ll lead our Existing Business Underwriting team, making sure we deliver strong financial performance and great outcomes for our customers. You’ll oversee complex cases, support trading decisions, and act as a technical referral point. You’ll work closely with brokers to build strong relationships and help shape our underwriting strategy. You’ll also coach and mentor your team, driving technical development and supporting licence progression. This role is key to ensuring we stay competitive and deliver on Aviva’s strategy.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Proven leadership in property and liability underwriting, with experience managing complex portfolios.
  • Strong account management skills, including building and maintaining broker relationships.
  • Solid technical knowledge of property and liability underwriting principles and market trends.
  • Ability to analyse portfolio performance and make strategic trading decisions.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring underwriters to develop technical capability and drive results.
