We are currently looking for a Senior Lead Mid-Market New Business Trading Underwriter to join the Aviva business.
As a Trading Underwriter, you will be responsible for servicing brokers and underwriting new business. This role is for someone who comes from a broking or underwriting background and is passionate about developing in their career.
You will be aligned to a portfolio of brokers/customers to proactively develop and profitably grow their commercial book of business. Partnering with brokers and customers to truly understand their wants and needs, using data insight to ensure we provide whole customer solutions which support these.
You will be handling more complex cases including referrals as well as reviewing team/book performance and linking in with leaders on strategy.
This role does require you to go out on broker visits across Wales & The South West, so there is a need to be flexible with travel.
A bit about the job:
- To be a multiclass underwriter who operates within agreed guidelines and authority levels to profitably grow the book of business.
- Great communicator who regularly has meaningful face-to-face meetings with brokers and/or customers to build their confidence in us and to make Aviva their insurer of choice.
- Deal with brokers/customers\’ book of business.
- Embrace and understand Aviva\’s regional SME & Mid-Market trading strategy.
- Be curious to grow understanding of the commercial business.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Previous property & liability and/or fleet underwriting experience is essential.
- The ability to analyse risks and communicate and present effectively to brokers and/or customers.
- Work collaboratively within a large complex organisation.
- Good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislation.
- Strong commercial business acumen to create and deliver business cases.
