This is a great job for someone who thrives in complex transformation environments and enjoys bringing structure, clarity and confidence to large-scale programmes. Whether you're an experienced portfolio leader, Head of PMO, Portfolio Director or senior assurance professional, this role will suit someone with a strong track record of leading integrated planning, governance and portfolio assurance across major business change initiatives. You'll be comfortable influencing senior stakeholders, navigating ambiguity and providing constructive challenge to support effective decision-making.
A bit about the job: We have an exciting 12-month opportunity to join Aviva's Direct Line Integration programme as Head of Integration Management Office. This is a pivotal leadership role within one of Aviva's most significant transformation programmes, helping to bring together complex activity across Aviva and Direct Line to support a safe, controlled and successful integration. You'll lead portfolio-wide planning, assurance, dependency management, governance and executive reporting, creating a single, credible view of delivery confidence across the programme. Working closely with senior leaders, you'll identify emerging risks, constraints and opportunities, ensuring informed decisions are made and the right interventions are in place to protect strategic, regulatory and business outcomes. While delivery accountability remains with programme and workstream leads, you'll provide the independent oversight, challenge and assurance needed to support successful execution.
Skills and experience we're looking for:
- Significant experience leading portfolio management, PMO, integrated planning, governance or assurance functions within large and complex transformation programmes.
- Proven success managing portfolios with multiple interdependent programmes, including expertise in critical path planning, dependency management and delivery assurance.
- Strong experience establishing and improving portfolio governance frameworks, reporting and assurance activities to drive delivery confidence and performance.
- Ability to produce clear, insightful reporting for executive, Board and shareholder audiences, ideally within a highly regulated environment such as financial services.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation and influencing skills, with the confidence and credibility to provide constructive challenge and support senior decision-making.
