Join our public markets team as an Equity Trader.
The role focuses on implementing investment decisions efficiently, achieving best execution, managing risk and transaction costs, and supporting portfolio performance through market insight and execution expertise.
The team builds high-conviction portfolios across fixed income, equities and multi-asset solutions, using in-depth research and robust portfolio construction." Responsibilities Deliver high-quality execution of global equity trades on behalf of clients.
Efficiently implement investment decisions, across single stocks, index baskets and electronic trading platforms, aiming for best execution and preserved alpha.
Provide market insight to portfolio managers and maintain strong relationships with brokers and execution partners.
Support continuous improvements in trading processes and technology; maintain sound judgement in execution strategy and risk management.
Assist with counterparty selection and ensure compliance with regulatory and operational standards.
Qualifications Demonstrated experience in equity trading with a solid understanding of market structure, trading systems, and operating in a regulated environment.
Strong analytical and communication skills to interpret market data, assess trading performance and provide insights to investment teams.
Experience in programme trading, particularly index basket trading around MSCI and FTSE rebalances (highly desirable).
Knowledge of electronic trading strategies, algorithmic execution, and the use of algo wheel frameworks to optimize execution outcomes.
Understanding of Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) and using trading performance reviews for continuous improvement.
SMCR (Senior Managers and Certification Regime) familiarity; willingness to undergo regulatory background checks and ongoing fitness and propriety assessments.
