We have a fantastic opportunity for a tenacious Credit Risk Manager to join our group Credit Risk team within Group Financial and Sustainability Risk. This role is ideal for an experienced Credit Risk Manager with a genuine interest in the economy, seeking to work with like-minded professionals in the UK’s leading Insurance, Retirement, and Wealth business.

About the job:

Credit risk is one of the largest risks faced by Aviva. Managing this risk is central to our strategy to protect customers and support sustainable growth. Responsibilities include setting credit limits, asset class analysis, and creating reinsurance contracts to mitigate credit risk during stress scenarios.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support analysis of Aviva’s Credit position, including development of the Credit Limit Framework and credit data systems (currently Clearwater and Qlik).
  • Ensure timely delivery of financial and non-financial information related to Credit Risk for internal and external reporting, including during financial stress.
  • Assist with counterparty and exposure risk assessments, including for reinsurers/reinsurance.
  • Participate in responses to credit events, both idiosyncratic and systemic.

Skills and experience:

  • Experience in model building or coding is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of investment markets, asset classes, and their application to insurance strategy and asset-liability management.
  • Strong analytical, interpretative, and modelling skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage workload and relationships proactively in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent prioritisation and planning skills.

What you’ll get:

  • Salary circa £70,000 in most locations, circa £80,000 in London, depending on experience.
  • Bonus opportunity of 10% of annual salary, performance-dependent.
