Do you have a passion for developing relationships and driving growth opportunities? Aviva is looking for a talented Business Development Underwriter to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a market facing individual who wants to play an integral role in developing Aviva's regional specialty account.
As a Senior member of the team, you'll use your aligned Underwriting authority to support the strategic management of new & existing business relationships, directly contributing to the underwriting profit and service delivery goals.
A bit about the job:
- You will showcase a technical knowledge of Engineering and Renewable Energy, playing a key role in development activities with the aim to maximise and drive profitable growth.
- You will provide support and guidance to the wider team, participating in projects, and manage key customer/stakeholder relationships.
In this role, you will:
- Leverage your sector-specific expertise to identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Proactively lead the prospect management for your aligned region and engage in high level cross class package negotiation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support strategic growth initiatives.
- Provide support on complex cases, applying your business development acumen to deliver effective solutions.
- Contribute to the planning of strategic projects, offering insights to support new commercial opportunities.
- Be empowered to use your aligned Underwriting authority to deliver customer centric solutions.
Skills and experience we're looking for:
- Business Development Expertise: A proven track record of winning and retaining business, a background in Underwriting knowledge of Engineering and/or Renewable Energy would be advantageous.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ability to manage underwriting caseload within a regulatory environment.
- Business Development: Excellent presentation skills and a willingness to support customer engagement.
- Communication & Qualifications: Strong communication and negotiation skills. Willingness to trade in a face-to-face environment and drive new business generation.
