We have a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience managing large-scale customer data migration programmes. If you have experience working in technical 1st line, and a 2nd line risk oversight roles in a highly regulated environment, this is the perfect next step for you! You will be supporting with large change programs to support our customers and the market in a safe and sustainable manner.
A bit about the job: This role is key to our business as you will lead the delivery of 2nd line risk oversight and challenge of a Strategic Business Initiative (SBI). Each SBI is vital to ensuring Aviva continues to deliver great outcomes for its customers. Your SBI is an enterprise-wide technology transformation of our Insurance, Wealth & Retirement business, touching directly every Aviva customer who owns a Life product, that’s millions of customers drawn from all communities in the UK.
Partnering with your business unit, you will provide thought leadership and act as the technology risk SME attending all levels of programme governance required, identifying and challenging on risks and assisting your 1LOD colleagues to unblock complexity. That could be inputs to Risk Opinions in support of SMFs, attending problem specific working groups where you’ll act as the risk’s technical SME or briefing Execs to seeking their risk acceptance or understanding of an issue you want mitigated, all the while coordinating responses to key risks and issues and provide forward looking insights that keep your SBI to its critical pathway.
You will also support the business in the effective assessment and, where required, remediation of their change risks and associated key controls and control initiatives (inc. deep dives & control testing) as required, while ensuring delivery to the Aviva Change Framework standards.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Experience managing large scale customer data migration projects from a technical 1st or 2nd line risk perspective.
- Experience and knowledge of change processes, controls, and risks (e.g., Transformation experience) with a consistent record of successful implementation and oversight of technology-related initiatives.
- In-depth knowledge of industry risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements, such as COBIT, ISO 27001, ITIL and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and articulate technology risks and their potential impacts on the program and the organisation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously and effectively collaborate and build relationships with various stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams to drive risk management initiatives and promote a strong risk culture within the program.

National salary: circa £90,000, London salary: circa £110,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
Bonus opportunity - 12% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva's.
