We’re looking for a driven and relationship‑focused Business Development Associate to support the UK discretionary wealth team on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. In this role, you’ll support the delivery of net new sales from their target client base, encompassing discretionary wealth managers, family offices, endowments, UK‑based teams of Global Financial Institutions. Operating in a fast‑evolving market, you’ll engage with key decision‑makers, positioning tailored, solutions‑led propositions that align with client needs and business objectives. You’ll play a critical role in growing assets under management, uncovering new business opportunities, and strengthening existing relationships through consistent, high‑quality client engagement. Through your professional conduct in one‑to‑one meetings and at industry events, you’ll help foster a positive market perception of Aviva Investors and enhance our reputation within the discretionary wealth community.

As a key member of a highly collaborative team, you’ll work closely with Investments, broader UK wealth team, and wider Sales colleagues to deliver a seamless, market‑leading client experience. You’ll support the broader sales function by maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date systems and client records, while providing valuable client insights and perspectives to inform internal discussions and contribute to the ongoing development of our propositions and sales strategy.

A bit about the role

You will support the delivery of regional new business and AUM growth targets by building strong relationships with discretionary wealth managers, family offices, endowments and UK based GFI’s and identify opportunities to initiate new client relationships and grow, broaden and deepen existing ones across the team.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as liaison between the sales teams and other areas of Aviva Investors, coordinating responses to prospective client requests.
  • Assist with lead generation and building a pipeline of new business opportunities through client research and tools such as Linkedin, Fundpath, and Factfind.
  • Ensure accurate record maintenance in CRM systems so that activity, pipeline, and expected revenues and progress are accurately reflected.
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of client events, including post‑event engagement and reporting.
  • Monitoring prospective client activity and providing regular updates and insights to the sales team.
  • Assist with client follow ups after meetings, and with the creation and distribution of marketing campaigns.

In this role you’ll be ‘Certified’ under the Financial Conduct Authority / Prudential Regulation Authority’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR). This means that we’ll need to complete some regulatory background checks on you before you take up your role and we’ll need to ask you some questions on an annual basis to make sure you remain ‘fit and proper’ and competent to carry out your role. We’ll provide training on what holding a SMCR role means when you join us and annually thereafter.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

  • Understanding of the UK discretionary wealth landscape, including discretionary fund management and private banking.
  • Ability to build effective internal relationships across Aviva Investors to deliver client solutions - with energy and pace.
  • Solid understanding of liquid markets and investment products; understanding of private markets is an advantage.
  • Proficient user of lead generation and sales management tools, notably Salesforce and Fundpath.
  • Strong PowerPoint, Excel, written and verbal communication skills.
