Head of Financial Reporting
This is a great role for someone who has a strong understanding of all financial disciplines, up to date knowledge of financial reporting developments and who is eager to build and maintain strong relationships across finance and Aviva Investors.
A bit about the job:
This role is critical to the delivery of timely and compliant group, statutory, management and regulatory financial reporting across Aviva Investors’ corporate entities, including the provision of technical accounting expertise. In this role you will embed the relevant financial disciplines and best practice across the Aviva Investors Financial Reporting teams covering the UK, Europe, Canada and Singapore, with a strong focus on financial controls and the production of high-quality financial reporting. You will be responsible for efficient management of the external audit across regions and for delivering change initiatives and continuous improvement opportunities within financial reporting. You will be accountable for ensuring all risks and issues are managed appropriately and drive actions to closure to ensure the control environment is effective and streamlined, introducing automation where possible, and minimising the risk of error.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Ability to present financial information to senior stakeholders clearly, demonstrating a deep understanding of technical accounting standards, including consideration of accounting judgements and estimates.
  • Strong people management skills with experience of leading teams across locations, effectively managing cross border information flows, and ensuring delivery and capacity management across teams.
  • Experience of either audit delivery or audit oversight with knowledge of audit testing processes and requirements.
  • Graduate, with accounting qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
  • Understanding of investment management sector, with up-to-date knowledge of the regulatory framework and applicable IFRS.
