This role is an important position in helping to deliver our key business objectives for the PLACE business unit in London and the wider UK. The PLACE Advisory team comprises experts in delivering places, including development, public private partnership, site assembly & compulsory purchase, regeneration, funding and finance and economic development. Working as part of this market leading team, you will be supporting Associates, Directors and Principals to deliver projects by taking day-to-day responsibility for advising clients on a variety of regeneration and development projects. This is a varied role working across public and private sector clients and we are looking for someone with commercial and market awareness, who likes to solve problems and get things done.
Key Responsibilities and Skills
- Undertaking valuations and viability & feasibility analysis across development and regeneration opportunities utilizing Excel and software such as ARGUS Developer.
- Site assembly and acquisition for development projects, including use of compulsory purchase.
- Assisting with partner procurement processes on major mixed‑use projects.
- Support provision of strategic advice on delivery structures including development agreements and joint ventures.
- Manage and deliver a portfolio of professional consultancy advice in respect of development appraisals, strategic advice and marketing strategies.
- Client and contract management as appropriate.
- Advising Local Authorities, developers, and landowners on affordable housing and S106 viability issues.
- Training and support to junior members of the team (national) to pass professional exams and develop skills in this area of work.
- Co‑ordinating sub‑consultants in the provision of technical survey and consultancy advice to support residential‑led mixed‑use projects.
- Building your network and profile in London and wider market for development, regeneration and associated projects.
- MRICS Qualified
- Advanced skills on Excel (to be able to build valuations, acquisition schedules and cashflows), Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- Fully conversant with Argus Developer and standard valuation software.
- Some experience in any of Valuation, Site Assembly & CPO, Appraisals, Negotiations, Development / Planning Viability, Feasibility and how to assemble the relevant data to support such undertakings.
- Experience of public and private sector regeneration or development consultancy (any property type).
- Good time management, research and problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrates good relationship building and influencing skills.
- Keen to work with colleagues in office, in‑person meetings and on site with clients.
