The role will involve:
- Act as technical lead and/or project manager on environmental and land quality commissions
- Lead and review contaminated land risk assessments, including Phase 1 and Phase 2 investigations
- Prepare and review land quality deliverables, including: Conceptual Site Models and risk assessments, Remediation Options Appraisals and Remediation Strategies, Verification and validation reporting
- Lead and deliver environmental due diligence for acquisitions, disposals, refinancing and portfolio management
- Advise clients on environmental liabilities, compliance risks and mitigation strategies
- Undertake site inspections and prepare commercially focused reports for investors, lenders and asset managers
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through trusted technical advice
- Liaise with regulators, planners, contractors and other stakeholders
- Represent Avison Young at meetings, workshops and client briefings
- Support workload management, resourcing and quality assurance
- Contribute to fee proposals, bids and business development activities
- Support the continued growth of the Environmental team within Avison Young
Position essential requirements include:
- Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related discipline;
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. Institution of Environmental Sciences)
- Chartered or working towards Chartered status (e.g. CSci or equivalent)
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience;
- Ability to undertake site inspections across the UK;
- Excellent technical report writing skills;
- Clear and confident communication skills;
- A clean UK driving licence
