Overall purpose of the job: The Occupier Cost Analyst is responsible for providing professional advice and analysis relating to occupier costs across commercial property portfolios. The role involves the review and analysis of service charge and insurance costs, ensuring charges are accurate, transparent and compliant with lease obligations, industry standards and best practice. The Occupier Cost Analyst will investigate and challenge costs where appropriate, negotiating with landlords, managing agents and other third parties to resolve occupier cost queries and disputes, while delivering positive outcomes for clients.

This is a client facing role and requires a candidate with experience delivering professional advice, building strong relationships, and communicating confidently with clients, colleagues and third parties at all levels.

Main duties, accountability and responsibilities:

  • Reviewing lease agreements and interpreting cost recovery provisions
  • Analyzing service charge, insurance and occupier cost data
  • Reviewing and investigating cost variances, trends and anomalies
  • Identifying, pursuing, negotiating and securing cost-saving opportunities for clients
  • Reviewing invoices and providing recommendations regarding payment and cost recovery
  • Requesting, collating and validating information from landlords, managing agents and other third parties
  • Maintaining and updating schedules, databases and client records
  • Preparing reports and supporting documentation
  • Presenting findings and recommendations to clients in a clear and professional manner
  • Managing occupier cost queries and supporting the resolution of disputes
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with clients, colleagues and other third parties
  • Undertaking other duties appropriate to the role as required
