Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour, £14.00 per hour after 12 weeks
Shift Pattern: Mainly 4 on / 2 off and 4 on / 4 off, predominantly night shifts. Candidates must be flexible to work both days and nights as required.
Job Overview: We are currently recruiting experienced Counterbalance Forklift Drivers to work within a busy warehouse environment. This role is a mixed position combining Forklift Truck (FLT) operations and Warehouse Operative duties when required. All candidates must hold a valid Counterbalance Forklift licence and will be assessed by the client's in-house FLT trainer.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading vehicles carrying a variety of cargo using a counterbalance forklift and other mechanical handling equipment.
- Carrying out manual handling duties safely and efficiently.
- Using hand-held devices to locate, identify, and track cargo.
- Processing paperwork in line with client requirements and procedures.
- Handling special cargo products with care and attention.
- Building and breaking down pallets.
- Preparing, wrapping, and palletising cargo as required.
- Supporting general warehouse operations when FLT duties are not required.
Essential Requirements:
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) licence (mandatory).
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment.
- Willingness to undertake both FLT and warehouse operative duties.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights.
- Ability to pass an FLT assessment conducted by the client's trainer.
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
