Job Title: Rental Operations Agent
Hours: Permanent, Rotational Shift Pattern Monday-Sunday
Salary: £25,500 plus commission
Rental Operation Agents are responsible for assisting customers with their rental needs and promoting the company\’s products and services. This position involves interacting with customers, processing rental agreements and payments, and providing information on rental rates and policies. A Rental Operation Agent may also be responsible for checking vehicles in and out, conducting inspections, and for resolving customer complaints and issues. This position typically requires excellent customer service skills, ability to sell and to work in a fast-paced environment.
Some specific responsibilities of a Rental Operations Agent will include:
- Greeting customers and listening to their needs to determine the best rental options
- Processing rental agreements and payments providing information on rental rates and policies and available vehicles
- Upselling additional products and services, such as coverage and GPS navigation systems
- Outlining and clarifying final charges to customers and collecting rental agreement receipt signatures
- Providing assistance with directions and travel information
- Maintaining accurate records and completing paperwork
- Completing daily back-office tasks (handling emails, preparing station reports)
- Inspecting vehicles for any damages or issues at return and documenting them using the appropriate tools and assessing any necessary charges as needed
- Conducting thorough vehicle inspections, and ensuring vehicles are prepared for the next rental
- Ensuring the rental car lot is organized and well-maintained
- Resolving customer complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner
- Ensuring that safety and security protocols are followed at all times
Requirements:
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Prior sales or customer service experience, particularly in the car rental, retail or hospitality sectors preferred
- Valid driver\’s license with a clean driving record
- Openness to working flexible schedules, including weekends
- Proven proficiency in communication and interpersonal skills
- A team-oriented approach
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and perform well in a fast-paced setting
