Role Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled Vehicle Mobile Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and repairing a range of vehicles to the highest technical and safety standards. This is a mobile role, and a company van will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out diagnostics, servicing, and mechanical repairs on a range of vehicles.
- Inspect vehicles to identify faults, defects, or potential failures and report findings.
- Replace tyres as required, ensuring all work meets technical and safety standards.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment to complete repairs efficiently.
- Adhere to manufacturer guidelines and company procedures at all times.
- Clearly communicate with customers regarding the work required and completed.
- Ensure vehicles are safe and roadworthy before returning them to service.
- Identify required repairs and faulty components in line with technical documentation.
Key Objectives
- Minimise vehicle off-road (VOR) time by ensuring quick and effective repairs.
- Deliver excellent customer service and communication at all times.
- Collaborate with third-party suppliers to support timely turnaround of vehicles.
- Support parts ordering and stock management for the fleet.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure a seamless repair process.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential – company van provided)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to explain technical issues in simple terms to customers
- IMI Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent (e.g. City & Guilds)
Experience & Attributes
- Essential:
- Experience in a mobile or workshop technician role
- Comfortable working with a variety of commercial vehicle types
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Positive, customer-focused attitude
- Team-oriented but able to work independently
- Desirable:
- Experience using IDS diagnostic machines
