As the Commercial Sales Director, you will lead our commercial strategy across all European countries. You’ll be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, forging strategic partnerships with corporate clients, travel agencies, and leading our IRS strategy. You will develop a deep understanding of the rental car ecosystem and customer needs, using it to position Avis Budget Group as the partner of choice in the region.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to meet or exceed revenue targets.
- Identify high-potential markets and segments, prioritising them based on market dynamics and company objectives.
- Sponsor the development of new propositions, go-to-market strategies and supporting technology to deliver your growth objectives.
Business Development & Partnerships:
- Cultivate and negotiate corporate deals across multiple segment verticals, and support TMCs team as needed to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Expand the company’s Insurance Replacement segment within applicable markets.
- Lead contract negotiations, ensuring mutually beneficial terms and long-term relationships.
- Maximise cross-border revenue opportunities (long haul and intra-Europe)
- Drive growth in mid-small business accounts
Team Management & Development:
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales team across key markets.
- Set clear objectives, provide coaching, and conduct regular performance reviews to manage performance and development
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes across Europe.
- Leverage analytics platforms and CRM insights to refine sales tactics and forecast performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with Marketing, Operations, Finance and Revenue Management to align and deliver the company’s strategy
- Work closely with product teams to tailor rental offerings to regional customer needs.
Budget & Forecast Management:
- Own Commercial Revenue plan, track budget adherence, and deliver accurate sales forecasts.
- Implement cost-effective strategies that maximise ROI.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8–10 years of B2B sales leadership experience within travel, car rental, or related sectors.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in complex, multi-country environments.
- Strong negotiation skills with large corporate clients and channel partners.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management abilities.
- Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50%).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics platforms (e.g. Tableau)
- Familiarity with regional regulatory frameworks and mobility competitive landscape
