Rental Return Agents are responsible for ensuring that rental vehicles are returned in a timely and orderly manner, and that they are inspected and prepared for the next rental. This position involves interacting with customers, processing rental agreements and payments, as well as conducting vehicle inspections. A Rental Return Agent may also be responsible for providing assistance with directions and travel information, and for resolving customer complaints and issues. This position typically requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Greeting customers who are returning rental vehicles
- Inspecting vehicles for any damages or issues, and documenting them using the appropriate tools, and assessing any necessary charges as needed
- Outline and clarify all final charges to customers and collect the rental agreement receipt signature from them
- Providing assistance with directions and travel information
- Conducting thorough vehicle inspections, and ensuring vehicles are prepared for the next rental
- Maintaining accurate records and completing paperwork
- Resolving customer complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner
- Ensuring that the rental car lot is organized and well-maintained
- Ensuring that safety and security protocols are followed at all times
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent level of education
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Prior customer service experience, particularly in the car rental, retail or hospitality sectors, with 1-2 years preferred
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Openness to working flexible schedules, including weekends
- Proven proficiency in communication and interpersonal skills
- A team-oriented approach
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and perform well in a fast-paced setting
- A friendly, upbeat, and proactive attitude.
