Job Description
The Senior Supply Chain Specialist plays a key role in supporting the Global Supply Chain team and EMEA Operations to develop and ensure the effective delivery of supply chain processes within the business unit. The role has broad responsibility across core supply chain activities, including vendor management, capacity planning, production, logistics, and maintaining schedule data integrity.
In addition, the position is responsible for managing inventory levels and capacity to ensure customer service targets are met while optimising working capital. Overall, this role is integral to the successful execution of the business unit’s supply chain strategy and its ability to deliver on its service commitments.
Responsibilities
- Implement and deliver on EMEA Supply Chain Strategy – Inventory Management, Capacity Management, Sourcing.
- Achieving Business Unit objectives – KPIs.
- Tactical raw material purchasing and inventory management. Checks stock levels and orders all raw materials in an accurate, safe and efficient manner while adhering to all Government, Corporate, and site regulations, rules and guidelines.
- Finished goods material from order entry through conversion for all customers.
- Maintain production scheduling to ensure that production schedules are current and sequenced for maximum productivity and to fulfill customer delivery requirements. This includes creating all work orders in ERP system.
- Manage and oversee materials and inventories for assigned facilities.
- Regularly monitor and address Non-Working, Slow-Moving (NWSM) inventory.
- Evaluate/incorporate/generate ideas for new technology to improve overall business unit operations (i.e. forecasting, reorder point, needed reports/capabilities, etc.).
- Coordinate with suppliers to have raw material available for scheduled production. Resolve raw material shipment discrepancies/issues.
- Oversee cycle count process which includes root cause analysis to limit discrepancies.
- Assist in EMEA Trade Compliance utilizing Avient TC, FL Trade Compliance point person, and EMEA governmental agencies.
- Works with Broker to resolve border issues and arranges routing that is cost effective.
- Other projects/duties as assigned.
Physical Demands – Environment
This role involves an element of physical activity within the working environment, requiring regular standing, walking, and manual handling. You will be expected to lift and move materials (up to 25kg / 55lbs) and operate equipment as part of daily tasks.
Work is carried out indoors in a fast-paced industrial setting, with exposure to noise, heat, vibration, machinery, and airborne particles. Appropriate PPE (e.g., safety glasses, footwear, hearing protection, and other equipment as required) must be worn at all times.
Scope
The position may have supervisory responsibilities for the shipping and receiving department employees.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will be educated to bachelor’s degree level and have notable experience within a similar role in a fast paced manufacturing environment. Computer literate is essential with knowledge of inventory/purchasing systems and analytical skills. A well organised self starter with solid understanding of manufacturing operations and safety procedures.
