Skills & Experience Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CTA or equivalent) or qualified by experience.
Strong background in both accounting and UK taxation.
Experience with corporate tax compliance and tax provisioning.
Good understanding of deferred tax accounting.
Experience preparing or reviewing VAT returns.
Experience working with external auditors and tax advisors.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage priorities and work independently.
Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities Statutory Accounting & Financial Reporting Support the preparation and review of statutory financial statements for UK entities.
Assist with period-end and year-end close activities.
Ensure accounting records comply with internal policies and applicable accounting standards.
Work closely with the wider statutory accounting team to maintain a high standard of financial reporting.
Corporate Tax Prepare and review corporate tax calculations and returns in collaboration with external advisors.
Manage quarterly and annual tax provisions.
Calculate and post current and deferred tax provisions.
Support tax forecasting and effective tax rate analysis.
Manage group relief calculations and related tax adjustments.
Assist with Corporate Interest Restriction (CIR) compliance.
Coordinate and support Research & Development Expenditure Credit (RDEC) claims.
Support PAYE Settlement Agreements (PSA) and other UK tax reporting obligations.
Monitor changes in UK tax legislation and assess impacts on the business.
VAT & indirect tax Prepare and review VAT returns and supporting documentation.
Ensure compliance with UK VAT regulations and reporting requirements.
Support VAT audits and respond to queries from advisors and tax authorities.
Preparation and follow up for indirect tax.
Audit & Compliance Act as a key contact for external auditors during interim and year-end audits.
Prepare audit support schedules and respond to audit queries.
Review tax computations prepared by external advisors.
Ensure all statutory and tax filing deadlines are met.
Support internal control and compliance initiatives.
Team Support & Development Provide technical guidance and day-to-day support to two members of the statutory accounting team.
Contribute to process improvements, standardisation, and automation initiatives.
