This is a hands‑on role covering day‑to‑day accounting activities for EMEA, working closely with the Senior Finance Manager and wider stakeholders across the business. You’ll play a key role in ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, and continuous improvement in how finance supports the organisation.

The role is based at our Long Crendon office in Buckinghamshire, with hybrid working available (typically 3 days per week in the office).

Why Avidity Science?

  • Competitive Package: Salary up to £45,000 (commensurate with experience), plus bonus opportunity.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: 25 days holiday, pension contributions matched up to 8% of basic salary, private healthcare, life insurance, enhanced family leave and more.

  • Supportive Team Environment: Join a collaborative finance team that values accountability, curiosity, shared learning and continuous improvement.
  • Flexible Working: Hybrid working available, with flexibility balanced by regular in‑person collaboration at our Long Crendon office.

Your Role

As an Accountant, you will:

  • Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts, working closely with the Senior Finance Manager EMEA.
  • Take ownership of statutory reporting across the EMEA region, including VAT, CIS and national statistics submissions.
  • Maintain ownership of key balance sheet areas including fixed assets, cashflow forecasting, margin reporting, accruals and prepayments.
  • Partner with external accountants to support the preparation of annual statutory accounts.
  • Implement and strengthen internal controls, including balance sheet reconciliations and month‑end checks.
  • Actively identify risks, anomalies and improvement opportunities across the P&L, balance sheet and cashflow — and see them through to resolution.
  • Support intercompany activity and provide practical finance input to stakeholders across the EMEA region.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes, helping improve efficiency and consistency across the team.
  • Act as a supportive and dependable team member, sharing knowledge and providing informal coaching to colleagues (without line management responsibility).
  • Demonstrate a strong “finisher” mindset — taking accountability for outcomes, not just actions.

What We’re Looking For

  • Accounting Experience: Part‑qualified or fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent), with typically 3–5+ years’ experience in a hands‑on accounting role.
  • Multinational Exposure: Experience working in a multinational or multi‑entity environment is a strong advantage.
  • Investigative Mindset: Naturally curious, comfortable looking beyond transactions to understand root causes and improve outcomes.
  • Ownership & Accountability: Highly detail‑oriented, reliable and committed to delivering accurate work in a deadline‑driven environment.
  • Team‑Focused Approach: Supportive, collaborative and willing to coach others without formal management responsibility.
  • Systems & Tools: Strong Excel skills and solid understanding of finance systems; experience with Sage 200 Professional and Sage 50 payroll is advantageous.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working both independently and as part of a close‑knit team, with the flexibility to adapt as priorities shift.

Interview Process

  • 30‑minute MS Teams video call with HR
  • Second stage: 1‑hour in‑person interview plus assessment activity (with the hiring manager and a finance team colleague)
  • Final stage: In‑person interview with regional senior leadership members
