We are working with a major Maintenance Repair Organisation based at Manchester Airport (M90) that specialises in aircraft maintenance, engineering and modification services.
Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic Responsibilities
The purpose of an Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic is to fabricate, assemble, repair and modify sheet metal components of aircraft and aircraft structures following applicable specifications and drawings.
Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic Duties
- Inspect and repair aircraft sheet metal components using a variety of tool and welding equipment.
- Repair and maintenance of various systems and components, such as airframes, wings, fuselages, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Removal of major structural sections, whilst stress jacked.
- Drill, ream and countersink holes on aircraft components.
- Perform riveting and other fastening techniques.
Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic Skills & Experience
- Sheet Metal experience on commercial or military aircraft is essential.
- Understanding of aviation regulations.
- Knowledge of aircraft sheet metal structures and components.
- Ability to use hand and power tools and sheet metal forming equipment.
- Ability to carry out repairs and modifications to sheet metal components.
- Subject to 5 years UK security vetting background checks.
