We have an immediate requirement for experienced Cargo X-Ray Screeners to work with a major Freight Handling Agent based at London Heathrow Airport (TW6). This is a mixed shift pattern covering both day and night shifts on a 4 on 4 off rotating shift pattern (12 hr shifts). You must have Cargo X Ray Screening experience to be considered for this role. The Cargo X-ray Screener plays a crucial role in inspecting cargo for prohibited items and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. In return we offer £16.12 p/h basic. Overtime rate of £22.18 p/h - £29.56 p/h (after rostered hours). FLT training.
Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray screening equipment to examine cargo for security threats and contraband using the ETD method of screening.
- Conduct thorough inspections of packages and pallets, identifying any suspicious items or anomalies.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to load and unload cargo efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and report any findings to the appropriate authorities.
- Once fully trained, assist the existing warehouse team with FLT and warehouse duties which will require a high degree of manual handling.
Experience
- Must have experience as a cargo screener working with all screening methods (X-ray, ETD) from an air freight background.
- Need to have DNXCT (Digital National X-Ray Competency Test) qualification to do the screening of Air Freight.
- Able to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards in all operations.
