Aviation Recruitment Network Limited have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Counterbalance forklift Operative for a leading air freight ground handling company based in the heart of Gatwick Airport. You will be required to work a mixture shift pattern working 2 days shifts followed by 2 nights shifts on a rotating shift pattern (4 on 4 off) including weekends between the hours of 06:00 am – 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm – 06:00 am. As a Forklift Operative, you will receive: • All shifts £15.12 p/h rising to £16.12 p/h • Overtime after successful completion of probation, £22.17 – £29.56 p/h. • Free uniform. • Free Cargo Operative Training. • Weekly or monthly pay. • Free parking in ULEZ free zone. Forklift Operative duties will include: • Using a forklift to load and unload parcels, freight & cargo from vehicles. • Build and break down aircraft pallets. • Build cargo onto aircraft units to airline specifications. • Working on a busy parcel sorting line moving parcels from aircraft containers. • Scanning cargo and completion of airfreight documentation. To be considered for this Forklift Operative position you must have: • A valid counterbalance FLT licence or certifications. • Any experience as a Warehouse Operative, cargo operative would be highly desirable but not essential as training will be provided. Successful Forklift Operative will be subject to: • A 5-year checkable history for security vetting purposes. • Criminal Record check (refundable). • Good standard of numeracy and literacy and ability to pass DfT Cargo Operative Training.
