About the Role:

On behalf of our client, a leading UK independent MRO, specialising in Boeing and Airbus families, we are recruiting for Lead Technicians to oversee and perform all maintenance activities, both scheduled and unscheduled. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team with a strong focus on innovation, quality, and excellence in aviation services and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate technicians, mechanics, junior mechanics, ASW’s and apprentices within the assigned maintenance zone
  • Allocate and prioritise tasks in line with aircraft check status, operational requirements, and operational resources availability
  • Oversee complex and technically demanding maintenance tasks to ensure quality and compliance
  • Support Engineers and Department Supervisors by providing technical and operational assistance as required
  • Order and control aircraft spares and materials to support maintenance activities
  • Organise, monitor, and evaluate repairs, ensuring they meet regulatory and company standards
  • Ensure all maintenance documentation is completed accurately and in accordance with approved maintenance data and company procedures
  • Enforce safety policies, procedures, regulations, and instructions at all times
  • Report maintenance errors, near misses, and any inaccurate, incomplete, or ambiguous maintenance data via the company reporting system
  • Ensure compliance with the company Health & Safety policy, regulations and safe working practices
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the maintenance zone/bay and actively promote efficiency and quality enhancements
  • Ensure aircraft and work zones are kept clean, orderly, and free from Foreign Object Debris (FOD)
  • Ensure team members remain up to date with engineering advisories, quality notices, read & signs and technical communications
  • Champion best practice and foster a strong safety, quality, and compliance culture
  • Ensure the team is present, prepared, and ready to commence work at the start of shift
  • Monitor accurate and compliant time recording for all tasks for the team, self, and assigned contractors
  • Actively support the development, mentoring, and progression of team members, including apprentices and new joiners
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably necessary to meet business needs

Responsible for working in accordance with the company framework, and compliance with the organisations policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests, or reputation of the Company.

Recognised aeronautical training e.g. City & Guilds Level 3, BTEC Level 3, University Degree or Aeronautical Apprenticeship programme.

Initial Human factors, EWIS & Fuel Tank Safety.

Good structural knowledge including ability to carry out structural repairs.

Ability to demonstrate basic knowledge of aircraft system(s).

Proven track record in a Base Maintenance Technician role within an EASA / UK CAA Part 145 approved maintenance organisation.

Proven ability to support Zone Engineers and Supervisors to achieve safe and compliant maintenance outcomes.

Demonstrates a broad skill set in aircraft systems including rigging, component replacement, and modification embodiment.
