Overview
Morson Edge is supporting a leading aerospace and defence organisation in the recruitment of a Senior Aircraft Mechanical Supervisor to support Hawk fast jet aircraft maintenance operations at RAF Valley.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced aircraft mechanical engineer looking to step into a leadership position within a highly respected military aviation environment. You'll play a key role in supervising maintenance activities, supporting aircraft availability, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and airworthiness are maintained.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise mechanical maintenance activities on aircraft and aircraft components
- Allocate and oversee maintenance tasks within approved authorisation levels
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with approved procedures and airworthiness requirements
- Carry out and supervise inspections, repairs, modifications, and component replacements
- Support fault diagnosis and rectification activities
- Monitor maintenance progress against programme requirements and operational priorities
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technicians
- Ensure compliance with aviation safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records
- Promote a safe, efficient, and professional working environment
Requirements
- Previous experience supervising aircraft mechanical maintenance activities
- Strong aircraft maintenance and fault-finding experience
- Proven leadership capability within a regulated aviation environment
- Good understanding of aviation safety, quality, and airworthiness requirements
- Experience working within military aviation, fast jet, or comparable operational aircraft environments
- Evidence of maintenance currency and recency through logbook records
- Ability to work effectively within a safety-critical engineering environment
Qualifications
- Completed engineering apprenticeship (Aeronautical or military equivalent preferred)
- City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance, or equivalent recognised qualification
- Additional aircraft type training or military aviation qualifications advantageous
