Ground Handling Operative Warehouse Cargo Handling Professionals Wanted: Join dnata's Logistics Powerhouse in Birmingham! At dnata, we handle a remarkable variety of cargo, from live animals to luxury cars, ensuring every item is safely and securely prepared for its journey. We're seeking dynamic individuals to join our team as Cargo Handlers, playing a crucial role in keeping our logistics operations running smoothly.
As a Cargo Handler, you'll be responsible for loading and offloading cargo vehicles, operating forklifts and other mechanical equipment, and performing manual handling tasks. You will also be using handheld devices to locate and identify cargo and process paperwork in accordance with client requirements. Job Requirements:
- Fluency in both verbal and written English is a must
- A forklift truck license (counterbalance) is desirable
- Previous warehouse experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given to candidates who wish to share dnata's vision, mission and values.
- A full UK/EU driving license with at least 1 year of driving experience is desirable
- A safety-driven mindset and the ability to maintain a secure working environment
- Pre-employment checks, including successful completion of referencing (checkable 5-year employment/education history), criminal record check procedures to meet dnata and CAA security regulations, and a satisfactory medical report.
Hours of Work: 42 hours per week - looking for 12:00-12:00 late shift or 18:00-06:00 night shift roster pattern but must be flexible to help cover other shifts where needed.
