As Vice President, Risk and Controls, you will lead the strategy and implementation of AVEVA’s enterprise risk management and control frameworks. This senior leadership role plays a key part in protecting AVEVA’s operational and financial integrity by embedding robust controls, driving risk-aware decision-making, and enabling business transformation. Reporting to the SVP, Finance Operations, the role works cross-functionally and has regular interaction with the CFO and C-suite committees.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and controls for AVEVA including:
- Determining a risk strategy and implement policies and procedures to minimise AVEVA risk exposure and drive controls
- Embedding a strong risk and control culture
- Reporting to the Finance and Compliance Committee
- Implementation and ongoing oversight of PCAOB compliant controls including management testing
- Scoping and appropriate application of PCAOB controls across the group
- Overseeing the Group’s non-financial controls associated with risks identified through ERM. This involves working with other key stakeholders such as sustainability, security and the people team
Team and key relationships
The VP Risk and Controls will report to the SVP Finance Operations. This role will work closely with senior leaders from finance along with other functions such as IT, security, legal, sales operations, and HR.
Key Requirements
- Experience of leading risk and controls in a global organisation
- Experience of a global PCAOB implementation
- Experience of delivering large programmes globally and leading change such as a controls improvement programme
- Experience in internal / external audit roles preferable
- Qualified accountant
- Experience in finance transformation programme would be preferable
- Excellent stakeholder management, ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and team members and manage demands of a wide range of stakeholders
- Leadership of global teams – ability to bring a team together to perform well, manage performance, resource planning, recruitment etc.
- Ability to develop a strategic vision and lead the delivery of that vision
- Experience of developing business cases and measuring benefits
- Be comfortable working with ambiguity, in a multi-cultural environment
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal
- Influencing, persuading and supporting stakeholders to improve the control culture in the organisation
- Ethics – maintain high standards of professional ethics
- Experience working with third parties eg auditors, regulators
