Job Title: Revenue Controller

Location: Cambridge / London

Employment Type: Full time, permanent

The job

The Revenue Controller has responsibility for the financial control of revenue contracts for all UK and Netherlands entities within AVEVA.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Revenue Controller is part of a small in-house Financial Control team which is support by a shared service centre. At AVEVA, the Financial Control function has full ownership for the entity ledgers, accounting, tax, compliance, treasury and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Being responsible for ensuring that all Revenue month end tasks for UK and Netherlands entities are completed according to the month end schedule
  • Ensure all software contracts for all trading entities are accounted for in accordance with IFRS15 in a timely manner
  • Collaborate and communicate the shared service centre and Order Entry function, taking full responsibility for the deliverables of revenue related matters
  • Review of revenue in accordance with the master chart of accounts and dimensional structure of the enlarged Group
  • Review of contract balances (contract assets, liabilities and debtors), ensuring that balances unwind in accordance with forecast.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis as required by the Group
  • Review and analysis of revenue related Balance Sheet accounts
  • Review of large and complex contracts in accordance with IFRS15, and working with the Group Revenue Team on areas of accounting complexity
  • Work closely with the Region Head of Finance, Finance Business Partner for Sales and other stakeholders to help them understand revenues booked in the local ledger and resolve any queries that might arise
  • Ensure all contracts are recorded correctly for ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue) reporting
  • Full control of Royalty calculations for UK IP product including accruals and third-party provider reports
  • Ensure compliance with the Group’s internal control framework, and full responsibility for Internal Control self-assessment of all Revenue controls for all UK entities in scope
  • Support external and internal audit processes as and when needed
  • Being responsible for applying relevant Standard Operation Policies (SOP) as set out by Global Process Owner (GPO) and providing operational feedback where applicable
  • Keeping up to date with Group IFRS 15 guidance and instructions.
  • Revenue knowledge sharing with the wider UK and Netherlands finance team.
  • Supporting the Controller with ad hoc projects
  • Supporting commercial teams in relation to revenue and contract questions as needed
