We’re looking for a driven and relationship-focused Business Development Associate to help drive growth across the UK IFA/Wholesale market. In this role, you’ll support the North, Scotland, and Ireland regions, working closely with the UK Wealth team to deliver net new sales by identifying and initiating new client relationships while broadening and deepening engagement with existing adviser firms. You’ll build and take ownership of your own client bank, developing strong partnerships and driving increased adoption of our multi-asset investment solutions.
Operating in a fast-evolving market, you’ll engage with key decision-makers, positioning tailored, solutions-led propositions that align with client needs and business objectives. You’ll play a critical role in growing assets under management, uncovering new business opportunities, and strengthening existing relationships through consistent, high-quality client engagement. Through your professional conduct in one-to-one meetings and at industry events, you’ll help foster a positive market perception of Aviva Investors and enhance our reputation within the adviser community.
As a key member of a highly collaborative team, you’ll work closely with Investments, Marketing, and wider Sales colleagues to deliver a seamless, market-leading client experience. You’ll also support the broader sales function by maintaining accurate and up-to-date systems and client records, while providing valuable client insights and perspectives to inform internal discussions and contribute to the ongoing development of our propositions and sales strategy.
A bit about the role:
- You will support the delivery of regional new business and AUM growth targets by building strong relationships with tier 1, 2 and 3 IFA/intermediary firms and identifying opportunities to grow our presence across the region.
- Working closely with colleagues across Sales, Investments and Marketing, you will help drive client engagement, support business development activity and ensure our proposition is clearly positioned in the market.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining relationships with adviser and intermediary firms to drive new business opportunities.
- Supporting lead generation through client research, fact-finding and the use of tools such as LinkedIn and Fundpath.
- Coordinating responses to client enquiries and acting as a liaison between Sales and wider business teams.
- Hosting client meetings and supporting follow-up activity to progress opportunities through the pipeline.
- Maintaining accurate CRM records, ensuring client activity, pipeline and revenue forecasts are up to date.
- Assisting with the creation of presentations, sales materials and targeted marketing campaigns.
- Supporting the planning and delivery of client events, including post-event engagement and reporting.
- Monitoring prospective client activity and providing regular updates and insights to the sales team.
In this role you’ll be ‘Certified’ under the Financial Conduct Authority / Prudential Regulation Authority’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR). This means that we’ll need to complete some regulatory background checks on you before you take up your role and we’ll need to ask you some questions on an annual basis to make sure you remain ‘fit and proper’ and competent to carry out your role. We’ll provide training on what holding a SMCR role means when you join us and annually thereafter.
