We’re looking for a motivated Junior Software Engineer to join our 3DVis Cloud team at AVEVA. You’ll contribute to the delivery of best-in-class 3D visualisation and XR (Extended Reality) cloud streaming technologies, supporting AVEVA’s industrial software portfolio. Your work will help ensure our cloud and on-premises solutions meet high standards of quality, robustness, and security. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who enjoys software engineering, is interested in cloud technologies, learning from code reviews, and delivering customer value within a collaborative, scaled agile (SAFe) environment.
Key responsibilitiesWe follow a scaled-agile software development methodology. You should feel comfortable building collaborative relationships in a multi-disciplinary scrum team and delivering defined work with support from experienced engineers, regular code review and a layered testing approach. Your responsibilities will include, with regular support, reviews and guidance:
- Implement defined features, bug fixes and user stories following team standards.
- Contribute to the stability and robustness of our software by applying industry best practices when delivering work items.
- Collaborate with fellow software developers, SDET’s and DevOps engineers to clarify requirements, break down work, and deliver sprint commitments.
- Write and maintain automated unit tests and support continuous integration by investigating failures and improving code coverage.
- Support the deployment and development of our software by debugging issues, improving logging and diagnostic capabilities.
- Assist with maintaining our production systems by helping investigate production issues, contributing well scoped fixes, and implementing preventative improvements such as improved diagnostics and automated tests in the areas you work on.
Education & Experience:
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Up to 2 years of experience in a technical or security-related role (internships count!).
Technical Skills (You don’t need all of these—just a willingness to learn):
- Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Foundational experience in or understanding of software development using C#.
- Basic understanding of software development principles such as OOP, Unit Testing, SOLID and DRY principles.
- Team-oriented and collaborative, with clear communication and strong organisational skills, able to collaborate effectively, take initiative and progress issues with support from others.
- Methodical, proactive “can-do” attitude with a strong learning mindset and desire to grow technical depth.
- An interest in DevOps practices or exposure to CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
- Knowledge of Azure cloud services.
