As a member of the AVEVA Presales team, you will lead technical sales engagements for AVEVA PI System across manufacturing, process, power, and gas industries. Partnering closely with Sales, you will uncover customer operational and data challenges, design practical solution architectures, and demonstrate how industrial data can deliver measurable business value. You will lead technical workshops, demonstrations, Proofs of Concept, and proposal development throughout the sales cycle. This customer-facing role requires the ability to engage both executive and technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with partners, Delivery, Customer Success, and global Product teams.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with Sales to qualify opportunities, develop account and technical sales strategies, and shape customer-focused solution proposals.
- Lead discovery sessions to understand customers’ business, operational, and industrial data challenges, and design appropriate AVEVA PI System solution architectures.
- Deliver tailored, value-based presentations, demonstrations, and technical workshops for audiences ranging from executives to plant engineers.
- Plan and execute PoCs / Proofs of Value, including evaluation environment setup, validation, and outcome reporting.
- Prepare technical responses for RFIs/RFPs and proposals, and ensure a smooth transition to Delivery and Customer Success teams following contract award.
Essential requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in technical sales, presales, sales engineering, IT consulting, implementation engineering, customer success, or field services for industrial software or IT solutions.
- Experience working with customers in manufacturing, process industries, power, gas, or related industrial sectors.
- Ability to understand customer business and technical requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
- Proven experience delivering technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, PoCs, and/or solution proposals for both business and technical stakeholders.
- Business-level Japanese proficiency and the ability to communicate effectively with global internal stakeholders in English via email, chat, and verbal communication.
Desired skills
- Experience with AVEVA PI System, including PI Data Archive, Asset Framework, PI Vision, PI Web API, PI Integrator, or Edge Data Store.
- Experience with industrial data platforms, cloud environments, or data integration technologies such as CONNECT Data Services, Azure/AWS, SQL, Python, and REST APIs.
- Domain knowledge of plant operations, maintenance, asset reliability, production, energy management, or industrial OT environments.
- Experience collaborating with global teams, sales partners, system integrators, or international software vendors.
