This role sits within the UK finance team of AVEVA, working on the financial accounting activities for the UK and the Netherlands entities, reporting to the Financial Controller – UK & NL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end close activities, including the preparation and posting of accruals and journals.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the Shared Service Centre (SSC), ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Support the annual statutory accounts process in partnership with the UK Financial Controller and wider UK Finance team.
  • Prepare audit schedules and respond to audit queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders across the AVEVA Group, including Tax and Internal Audit.
  • Partner with Finance Business Partners to produce analytical reviews, investigate material P&L variances, and support corrective actions where required.
  • Prepare ad hoc manual payments as requested by the Payroll department.
  • Work collaboratively with the SSC to resolve issues and support continuous improvement.
  • Assist with general administrative activities as required to support the smooth running of the team.
  • Help maintain, strengthen and improve financial controls and processes for the UK entities.
  • Prepare and review SOX controls and associated evidence/documentation.
  • Complete Office for National Statistics (ONS) surveys accurately and on time.

Ideal Experience

  • Part qualified (or studying towards) a recognised accountancy qualification ACA/ACCA/CIMA, or proven experience within a similar finance role.
  • Experience working with multi-currency transactions and foreign exchange (FX).
  • SOX experience desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, with strong planning and prioritisation skills; self-motivated and able to manage deadlines.
  • Comfortable working both within a team and independently and using initiative, while recognising that support is available from the UK Finance team when needed.
