The Job
As a Business Development Manager for HMI/SCADA within the Midstream Pipeline segment, you will motivate and support regional sales teams to identify, develop, and close new business opportunities across the AVEVA pipeline software portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Drive growth across the HMI/SCADA business, focused on SCADA, Gas Measurement, Liquids Pipeline Operations, and Pipeline Simulation solutions
- Provide pipeline domain expertise to support Sales in identifying, qualifying, and closing new business
- Position AVEVA as a strategic partner in pipeline operations, optimization, and digital transformation
- New business pipeline growth (Salesforce)
- Contribution to closing new pipeline-related opportunities
- Pipeline quality, deal progression, and win rates
- Strategic account penetration within pipeline operators
Skills and Experience
- Deep understanding of pipeline operations, including:
- Gas transmission and distribution networks
- Liquids / crude / refined product pipelines
- Compressor and pump station operations
- Practical understanding of pipeline operations environments, including experience interacting with control rooms, field operations, and engineering teams
- Expertise or strong familiarity in:
- SCADA systems and pipeline monitoring/control
- Gas measurement (including custody transfer, metering, and regulatory compliance, supported by solutions such as AVEVA Measurement Advisor)
- Liquids pipeline operations (including batch tracking, scheduling, and inventory management, supported by solutions such as AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids)
- Pipeline Simulation (real-time transient models, leak detection, operator training, operational digital twins, optimization)
- Industry knowledge, including competitive landscape
- Strong communication and executive engagement skills
- Ability to articulate customer pain points and business value
- Ability to communicate in customer business language
- Strong solution-selling and value-based selling mindset
- Self-driven, proactive, and pipeline growth oriented
- Thought leadership in complex sales engagements
- Ability to explain technical differentiation at a high level
- Strong collaboration, organization, and time management skills

- Ideally 5+ years in Business Development, Sales, or Account Management in industrial software or energy
