We are looking for a Distinguished Technology Strategist to join AVEVA’s Emerging Technology function, reporting directly to the VP & Fellow for Emerging Tech Trends & Priorities. This high-impact, senior individual contributor role shapes AVEVA’s future by identifying, evaluating, and prioritising emerging technologies that can transform our product strategy, architecture, and customer value. You’ll partner across Research, Product, Architecture, and Strategy teams to turn early insights into clear recommendations that guide long-term investments and innovation direction.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and assess emerging technologies, trends, and market signals with the potential to influence AVEVA’s long-term product and platform strategy.
  • Partner with Fellows, product leaders, and R&D teams to align technology trends with AVEVA’s innovation roadmap.
  • Develop clear technology POVs, frameworks, and playbooks that help teams understand where and how to leverage new technologies.

Essential requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in technology strategy, emerging technology research, innovation scouting, or a similar technical leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of modern technology domains (e.g., AI/ML, industrial IoT, cloud data platforms, edge architectures, open-source ecosystems).

  • Curiosity: Passion for exploring and learning new technologies, frameworks, and market shifts.
  • Aspiration: Ability to imagine bold future possibilities and articulate a vision for long-term technology evolution.
