AVEVA is seeking a Senior License Compliance Auditor to join our Software License Compliance function based in London, UK. In this role, you will help protect AVEVA's intellectual property and licensing integrity by conducting software license compliance reviews, managing cases through to resolution, and partnering across the business to ensure fair, consistent, and professional outcomes. This role will also be responsible for the EMEA Region compliance team quarterly forecasting and reporting.
This position blends audit discipline (fact-based analysis, documentation, controls) with customer engagement (structured communications, de-escalation, and negotiation support). You will work closely with Legal, Sales, Finance, Business Operations, and Channel teams. Travel may be required (up to 10%, depending on business needs).
Key responsibilities
- Plan & execute compliance reviews
- Interpret license agreements and entitlements to determine compliance position and identify gaps or risk areas.
- Conduct software license compliance reviews/cases end-to-end: scope definition, data collection, validation, analysis, and documented conclusions.
- Maintain a high-quality audit trail (workpapers, evidence, customer responses, internal decision logs).
- Oversee external auditing firms who conduct remote and onsite audits.
- Track and progress all cases in Salesforce.
- Identify quality audit candidates by conducting account analysis, identifying licensing anomalies and by reviewing accounts with sales.
- Drive case progression and resolution.
- Manage multiple open cases simultaneously while maintaining clear timelines, prioritization, and status reporting.
- Participate in customer-facing meetings; communicate professionally and clearly in potentially sensitive situations.
- Work with sales to validate and assign financial ramifications to audit findings.
- Draft precise written correspondence (data requests, summaries, next steps, resolution documentation).
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Legal, Sales, Finance, Ops) to align on case strategy, findings, and resolution paths.
- Coordinate with channel partners/VARs as appropriate to support regularization outcomes.
- Escalate issues early, propose options, and remove blockers to keep cases moving.
- Identify opportunities to improve templates, trackers, playbooks, and repeatable processes that strengthen quality and consistency.
- Support reporting and forecasting of case workload and outcomes.
Essential requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience in one or more of: compliance auditing, contract/license compliance, legal operations/support, investigations, risk/compliance, software asset management, or related roles requiring structured evidence review and stakeholder management.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.
- High attention to detail and comfort working with contractual documentation and datasets/trackers.
- Strong organization and time management; ability to manage multiple complex workstreams at once.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

- Experience working cross-functionally with Legal and Sales in a contract-driven environment.

Hybrid working
We work in a hybrid way at AVEVA. Most roles are based at a local AVEVA office, with an expectation of being on-site 50% of your working hours to support collaboration and connection.
