We are seeking an innovative Data Scientist to join our AI Investigation and Incubation team. This role will support the investigation, incubation, and development of new AI solutions to be incorporated into AVEVA’s industrial intelligence offerings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning, data science, and industrial applications.

Key responsibilities
  • Investigate and recommend AI algorithmic/data science solutions to industrial problems.
  • Collaborate and consult with product teams on the development of new product capabilities.
  • Lead and contribute to investigations and incubations of emerging AI technologies for industrial applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prototype and test AI-driven solutions.
  • Contribute to the design and architecture of scalable data infrastructure and analytics platforms.
Essential requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in data science or machine learning roles with 3+ years in hands-on AI/ML model development and deployment. Experience in industrial or engineering domains is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and machine learning libraries. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in AI/ML techniques and best practices, including model evaluation, training/tuning, monitoring, and governance.
  • Up-to-date understanding of modern AI technologies including foundation models and agents.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong ability to translate emerging research into practical solutions.
  • Curious, detail-oriented, and collaborative. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members or leading small projects is a plus.
