We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director, Customer References, to own and scale AVEVA’s customer reference program to include a customer advocacy strategy. You will not only architect the vision for a world class program but also drive a collaborative process across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Portfolio teams to ensure the program is deeply embedded in the business. By working hand-in-hand with these functions, you will establish a robust pipeline of customer advocates who can share their success stories through case studies, speaking engagements, analyst relations, and marketing initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience fostering cross-functional alignment, building scalable processes, and amplifying customer voices to deliver measurable business impact.

Key responsibilities
  • Scale a global customer reference and advocacy program that drives measurable business impact.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Portfolio to identify and activate customer advocates.
  • Create compelling customer stories for use in campaigns, events, and media opportunities.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team of advocacy professionals.
  • Establish scalable processes and metrics to track program success.
  • Ensure customer participation aligns with brand, legal, and approval guidelines.
Essential requirements
  • Strong experience in customer marketing, advocacy, or reference programs (B2B/SaaS preferred).
  • Proven success building and scaling customer reference or advocacy programs.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience managing and developing teams.
  • Excellent storytelling, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with a track record of measuring program impact.

By default, employees are expected to be in their local AVEVA office three days a week, but some positions are fully office-based. Roles supporting particular customers or markets are sometimes remote.
