We are looking for a Principal Solution Architect to lead architecture, solution design, and customer engagement for PI Data Infrastructure and AVEVA CONNECT Digital Twin initiatives. This role will work with global and regional teams to deliver scalable, value-driven industrial data solutions across sectors such as energy, mining, utilities, manufacturing, chemicals, and data centres. You will act as a trusted advisor to customers and internal teams, helping translate business needs into robust technical architectures and successful delivery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead solution architecture, workshops, implementation planning, and technical design for PI Data Infrastructure and CONNECT Digital Twin customer programmes.
- Engage with customers to gather requirements, manage stakeholders, and act as a trusted advisor and escalation point for PI DI initiatives.
- Define architecture standards, templates, best practices, and rollout approaches for multi-site or enterprise deployments.
- Collaborate with product management, services, sales, pre-sales, and delivery teams to shape customer value, identify new use cases, and provide product feedback.
- Mentor and guide multi-disciplinary teams, including solution architects, senior engineers, developers, UX specialists, and industry experts.
Essential Requirements
- 15+ years of relevant experience in solution architecture, consulting, services delivery, or industrial software implementation.
- Deep experience with PI Data Infrastructure, including PI Server installation, configuration, connectivity, protocols, alerting, aggregation, Asset Framework, PI Vision, and PI DataLink.
- Strong industrial domain experience in sectors such as energy, mining, data centres, utilities, chemicals, manufacturing, or other asset-intensive environments.
- Proven ability to lead customer workshops, translate requirements into clear system designs, and communicate effectively with IT, OT, plant leadership, and business stakeholders.
- Experience leading or supporting global or regional industrial data programmes across multiple plants or sites.
Desired Skills and Competencies
- Experience with AVEVA CONNECT capabilities, including CONNECT Data, sharing, analytics, visualisation, digital twin, DataOps, and AI/ML-enabled use cases.
- Strong understanding of SCADA systems, PI Interfaces and Connectors, OPC DA/UA, Modbus, DCS systems, and industrial automation data connectivity.
- Experience with AF SDK/.NET, PI system administration, archive management, PI calculations, troubleshooting, backups, and operational dashboard design.
- Ability to map customer KPIs and use cases, such as operational efficiency, compliance, sustainability, asset monitoring, CBM, and data consolidation, to PI DI and CONNECT value outcomes.
- Experience supporting pre-sales, solution estimation, proposal development, project risk management, and partner or capability-building initiatives.
Hybrid working
We work in a hybrid way at AVEVA. Most roles are based at a local AVEVA office, with an expectation of being on-site 50% of your working hours to support collaboration and connection. Some positions are fully office-based depending on the nature of the work, and certain roles that support specific customers or markets may be remote. The working arrangement for this position will be confirmed during the hiring process.
