The job
Reporting to the Director of CONNECT Core Services, you will provide technical leadership for the design and implementation of AVEVA’s cloud platform capabilities using Microsoft Azure. You will work across teams to shape architecture, guide complex technical decisions, and promote modern cloud engineering practices. This role is suited to a highly experienced technical leader who remains hands-on, can turn technical vision into delivery, and can help raise engineering standards across a fast-moving cloud platform environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and implementation of secure, resilient cloud platform capabilities for AVEVA CONNECT Core Services
- Guide architecture and engineering decisions across microservices, REST APIs, data design, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code
- Provide technical leadership to development teams, supporting complex problem-solving, design reviews, and delivery quality
- Promote cloud technologies, modern engineering practices, and AI-assisted development tools across AVEVA
- Collaborate with Directors, architects, product teams, and engineering stakeholders to align technical direction with platform and business priorities
Essential Requirements
- Experience designing and delivering complex enterprise or cloud platform solutions
- Technical leadership experience, including guiding teams, shaping architecture, or influencing engineering direction
- Strong design and coding skills, with a reputation for delivering high-quality technical outcomes
- Experience developing microservice or service-oriented architectures and designing REST APIs
- Experience with C#/.NET or multiple programming languages, plus a strong understanding of database design, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms
Desired Skills and Competencies
- Experience with Kubernetes, containers, or cloud-native application platforms
- Experience with Angular or equivalent web development frameworks
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools to improve engineering productivity and software quality

Hybrid working
