The job
In AVEVA, Enterprise Architects provide the leadership, facilitation, analysis, and design tasks required for the development of an enterprise’s application, data and technology architecture. They create deliverables that help develop target-state guidance (standards, guidelines, individual parts, platforms, and configurations) for evolving the enterprise applications, technology platforms and integrations patterns, to enable business strategy and deliver targeted business outcomes. They enable and orchestrate the delivery of targeted business outcomes through facilitating and making technical decisions. They combine consulting – style approach to derive a strategic, end-state vision for where the Enterprise needs to go, with a pragmatic product – based approach to solutions that can be implemented by AVEVA’s domain – based engineering teams, using “agile” methods. They convey a consistent message and inspire trust in stakeholders who can rely on them and feel their time is well invested. They are proactive and progressive in action, a change agent adept at collaborating with diverse stakeholders across different domains and levels. They like “the big picture” and operate with an Enterprise mindset, yet they feel the need to dive deep into technologies to understand how they work, so that they can clearly articulate their recommendations to engineers and technical SMEs. They are passionate about experimenting with innovative technologies plus designing and implementing enterprise-wide IT solutions. They challenge the status quo, and they are not happy until they understand the “why” of existing processes and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Owns the current - state and derives future – state architecture (applications, data, technology platforms), by working with architecture peers (Solutions, Data, Infrastructure).
- Evaluates, analyses, and rationalises how architectural solutions are aligned, organized and mapped against the future vision and the strategic needs of AVEVA.
- Act as an advisor, providing insights on new technologies and recommending solutions that support business objectives.
- Leads the analysis of the current applications, integrations and platforms, including data. Understands and clearly identifies technical debt and recommends solutions for improvement. This included scanning the horizon for evolving technologies and trends.
- Works with the business leaders, IT domain leaders and relevant stakeholders to provide guidance and oversight to development teams to ensure that decisions are backed by a clear and well-understood rationale.
- Assists with designing the governance, assurance, and standards activities associated with ensuring enterprise technology architecture compliance of projects and products.
- Oversees and facilitates the research, evaluation, and selection of hardware and software technology and product standards, as well as the design of standard configurations.
Essential skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, system analysis, or a related study, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience of IT systems’ design.
- Experience with, and knowledge of, Business applications within 3 or more of the following domains:
- Commercial/direct Sales (CRM, Salesforce preferred)
- B2B digital ecosystems supporting indirect Sales and Partners/Resellers. The combination of both CRM and indirect Sales ecosystems is ideal.
- Finance (ERP and Billing, Oracle preferred)
- Marketing (Campaign Management, Adobe platform preferred)
- HR (Workday platform preferred)
Desired Skills and experience:
- Familiarity with Mulesoft is a plus.
- Relevant vendor or industry certifications.
- Experience working as a consultant on large, multi-national projects is highly beneficial.
- Experience working in the Software/Technology Industry is highly beneficial.

Hybrid working
