SUMMARY
The Principal: Health, Safety & Environment will serve as the leader for modern work system safety and subject matter expert for Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) across the UK and EMEA region, while leveraging global best practices to deliver consistent, world-class solutions. This role combines consultative advisory, solution architecture, client engagement and strong industry alliances to support Avetta’s expert services, pre-sales processes, and work system maturity for clients operating in diverse markets worldwide. This role requires familiarity with ESG/Sustainability best practices as it relates to the HSE function, performance and reporting (including Waste, Water and Energy). If residing within commutable distance to our Maidenhead office, a hybrid schedule would be requested (3 days in office, 2 days work from home). Remote work may be considered for those outside of commutable distance to an office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the trusted advisor for HS&E leaders across UK/EMEA, providing strategic guidance aligned with regional regulations (e.g., Regional directives/HSE standards/ISO and Sustainability frameworks) as well as global compliance requirements and established better practices.
- Key-Collaboration Leader: With global teams to ensure UK/EMEA-specific solutions integrate seamlessly with Avetta’s worldwide offerings, maintaining consistency with international standards such as ISO 45001 and PDCA methodology.
- Advocacy and Instilling Belief in a Better Way! Support pre- and post-sales activities that align client organizational goals and supply chain risk mitigation strategy to Avetta product / solutions.
- Develop and enhance professional service offerings tailored to the UK/EMEA market needs, while contributing to global service innovation and scalability.
- Work collaboratively with marketing to design and deliver impactful presentations, workshops and executive roundtables—both virtually and in-person—at client engagements, industry events, and conferences across the UK / EMEA.
- Support content strategy in the region – from contribution to topic ideation, SME input, to SME review – across blogs, social media, white papers and client events.
- Utilize deep experiential knowledge and regional case studies to articulate value propositions and influence business stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Partner with product development teams to advance Avetta’s systems approach, including Safety Maturity Index and continuous improvement metrics, ensuring relevance for UK/EMEA clients and alignment with global benchmarks.
- Represent Avetta as an external-facing HS&E thought leader, promoting modern safety methodologies and fostering alignment to Avetta solutions across UK/EMEA and globally.
- Strong collaboration with other SME areas, particularly ESG, but also includes Supply Chain Risk Management as well as Change Management.
- Travel required up to 20%.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & TRAINING
- Minimum of 15 years of growing knowledge, responsibility and experience in HS&E leader roles.
- Proficient with Safety Management Systems – ability to demonstrate success through implementation.
- Expertise with Project Management.
- Expertise with Building Business Cases.
- Proficient with Contractor Safety Management.
- Proficient with Analytics and Opportunity Assessment.
- Ability to create and present information that is informative, comprehensive, and targeted.
- Exceptional communication skills, including oral, written, and non-verbal communication.
- Proficiency in the use of various computer applications, including Access, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Web Conferencing Software (e.g. Zoom, Webex, etc.).
- Proficient Knowledge – Avetta, ISN, Achilles, Veriforce, PEC, ComplyWorks and others in this space.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Relevant Credentials: NEBOSH/IOSH, CSP, ARM and/or other relevant credentials / certifications in Health/Safety.
- Industry participation / network strength in related groups such as: IIRSM (International Institute of Risk/Safety Management), ASSP Region 9 / Mid-East Chapter (American Society of Safety Professionals), NSC Global Networks (National Safety Council), SHINE or others with the ability to strengthen existing alliance and forge new relationships and alliances.
