About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Director to join a fast-growing consultancy at an exciting point in its development. This is a senior leadership role where technical excellence and commercial acumen go hand in hand — you'll work closely with the Managing Director and play a central part in driving business growth, building the team, and delivering outstanding results for clients. This is not a P&L ownership role, but you'll be deeply involved in commercial performance — improving project margins, driving revenue, and helping shape the strategic direction of the fire engineering function.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading and developing a team of 7 direct reports, with a clear mandate to grow headcount
  • Partnering closely with the MD on business development and commercial strategy
  • Owning technical sign-off, delivery and quality across fire engineering projects
  • Identifying and converting new opportunities, while improving profitability on existing work
  • Championing innovation across the team and wider business
  • Contributing to a culture of growth in a business that is scaling rapidly

What We're Looking For

  • Strong fire engineering background with demonstrable technical expertise
  • Full Chartered Status
  • Master's degree in Fire Engineering (preferred, but not essential)
  • Commercially minded — you understand how to win work and protect margins
  • Experience at a senior level, or a driven individual ready to take that next step
  • Someone who knows this market well and brings a relevant network
  • A natural leader who can inspire, develop and retain talent
