We're working with a leading engineering consultancy based in Cambridge, and we're on the hunt for an Embedded Linux Software Engineer to join their growing team.
This isn't a one product, one roadmap kind of role. You'll be working across sensing, robotics, communications and IoT projects, spanning industrial, Government and medical sectors. One month you could be doing board bring up on an Arm based SoC, the next working embedded Linux for a medtech device. Genuine variety, not just a line in a job spec.
What you'll be doing:
- Embedded Linux development on Arm based SoCs, including device trees and user space/kernel space work
- Building and maintaining custom Linux images using Yocto
- Bare metal and RTOS development across multiple silicon vendors
- Supporting system bring up, board integration, debugging and performance optimisation
- Working closely with FPGA and electronics teams, so real exposure to the hardware side too
- Contributing to projects from early customer engagement right through to delivery

- Strong embedded Linux fundamentals, comfortable with device trees and kernel/user space
- Yocto experience / willing to learn
- Real-Time C/C++ experience
