At Avery Healthcare, we support the people who care for our residents. We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic Wellbeing and Activities Assistant – Bank position at Silvermere Care Home in Cobham. The successful candidate will help the Wellbeing Coordinator deliver a range of activities that support residents’ physical, cognitive and social well‑being.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe living and working environment, contributing to the positive and professional image of the home.
  • Report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to the Wellbeing and Activity Coordinator, Home Manager and care staff.
  • Support ordering and preparation of supplies for upcoming activities as directed.
  • Establish links with local community groups (e.g., schools, spiritual groups, museums/libraries) to encourage access to the wider community and promote intergenerational activity.
  • Live Avery’s values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful and accountable in everything you do.

Qualifications

  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Understanding of the role interaction plays in the general well‑being of people.
  • Positive attitude toward older people and commitment to providing stimulating, quality activities and social events.
  • Previous experience working with older people in a residential nursing or dementia setting.

Requirements

  • DBS Disclosure check – the cost of which will be met by Avery Healthcare.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
