Main duties of the job

As a Night Care Assistant at Avery Healthcare, your primary responsibility will be to deliver high standards of personal care. You'll contribute fully to the care team, ensuring continuity of services to residents. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting residents with personal hygiene while maintaining their dignity and independence.
  • Recognising and understanding clinical risks.
  • Acting courteously towards residents and their visitors.
  • Practising safe systems of work.

You will play an essential role in making a positive impact on residents' lives each day.

Job responsibilities

  • Assisting residents in all their personal hygiene care ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect of individuals at all times.
  • Recognising and understanding clinical risk areas in residents such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, signs of infections and escalating any identified risks in a timely manner.
  • Acting courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
  • Practising safe systems of work across the range of tasks.

  • Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate initiative and respect towards the residents and other people in the home.
  • Be an efficient worker able to carry reasonable instructions from other team members.
  • Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Requirements

  • No prior experience required; thorough induction and training programme provided.
  • A DBS Disclosure check (cost covered by Avery Healthcare).
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
