Main duties of the job

As a Deputy Manager at Sonning Gardens Care Home, you will support the General Manager to run a compliant, person‑centred care home that meets high professional and commercial standards. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Providing inspirational leadership and management to the nursing and support staff.
  • Ensuring medication policies and procedures are followed and reviewing medication administration.
  • Monitoring resident wellbeing and keeping accurate care plans.
  • Completing monthly audits, quality indicator reports, and other required documentation.
  • Attending weekly clinical meetings and monitoring clinical risk areas.

About you

You should have:

  • At least two years of experience in a similar care environment in a management role.
  • Excellent leadership, management and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in IT systems relevant to care management.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to cover a range of responsibilities on short notice.
  • Strong commitment to values such as caring, honesty, respect and accountability.

Qualifications

Minimum two years as a manager in a care setting.

  • DBS Disclosure check (cost covered by the employer).
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
