Main duties of the job:

  • Support operational leaders by providing insightful financial analysis and decision-making support.
  • Analyse monthly financial results, lead budgeting processes, develop financial models, and present data clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Regional Directors and Home Managers across a portfolio of care homes.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis, challenge and support decision-making, and help drive commercial performance across the region.
  • Combine strong financial expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills to identify opportunities, manage risks, and support the delivery of Avery's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Regional Directors and Home Managers to drive financial performance across your portfolio of homes.
  • Analyse monthly financial results and provide clear insights into key performance drivers, trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Support the delivery of occupancy, revenue, margin and EBITDA targets through effective financial planning and analysis.
  • Lead forecasting, budgeting and reforecasting processes, ensuring assumptions are robust, accurate and aligned with operational plans.
  • Develop meaningful financial models and forecasts linked to occupancy, staffing levels, fee rates and resident demand.
  • Produce performance reports, dashboards and variance analysis to support informed decision-making.
  • Challenge spending and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability and cost control.
  • Present financial information in a clear and accessible way to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Support operational improvement initiatives, investment decisions, refurbishments and new home openings.
  • Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement across the business.

About You:

  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Have significant experience within FP&A, commercial finance or finance business partnering roles.
  • Be experienced in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and performance analysis.
  • Possess advanced Excel skills and be confident working with large datasets.
  • Have strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate financial information into actionable business insights.
  • Be confident presenting financial information to non-finance stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Be comfortable constructively challenging stakeholders to drive improved business outcomes.
  • Be passionate about supporting operational excellence and delivering positive outcomes for residents and colleagues.
  • Experience within healthcare, care homes, hospitality or other multi-site operational environments would be advantageous.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools would be beneficial.
