As a Maintenance Operative in Newcastle-under-Lyme, you will be responsible for ensuring the building and grounds are well maintained. Your duties include:

  • Carrying out general maintenance tasks and basic repairs, including electrical, plumbing, joinery and building work both inside and outside the home.
  • Supporting new residents to arrange their rooms as they wish.
  • Ensuring routine re‑decoration is undertaken as required to maintain standards.
  • Advising on the supply and quality of items used for tasks and ensuring timely ordering of replacement goods.
  • Providing out‑of‑hours emergency service and participating in the on‑call rota.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of one year’s experience in a general maintenance or handyperson role, and/or a professional qualification in a trade.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, including moving and handling techniques, fire safety and COSHH assessments.
  • Ability to adapt and cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
