About the Role
As a Housekeeping Assistant at our Moorlands Lodge Care Home in Surrey, you will work as part of a team to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and laundry service for our residents. Your work will ensure that the care home environment remains clean, welcoming and reflective of the high level of care we deliver.
Job Responsibilities
- Carry out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
- Understand the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings, and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring all areas are well presented and maintained.
- Treat residents with dignity and respect, and ensure their personal space and belongings are always respected.
- Operate according to our standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, maintaining hotel‑service standards.
About You

Ideal Candidate Must Have
- Knowledge of Health and Safety, including Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
- Experience of cleaning and laundry in a public setting.
- Demonstrated compassion and commitment to delivering high‑quality housekeeping/laundry service to residents.
- Ability to adapt and remain flexible, covering a range of responsibilities on short notice.
Additional Requirements
- ADBDS Disclosure check (cost paid by Avery Healthcare).
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.

To be successful in this role you should have a strong understanding of Health and Safety protocols, particularly in areas such as Moving and Handling, Fire Safety and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH). Experience in cleaning and laundry services within a public setting, coupled with a professional commitment to high‑quality service delivery, is required. Flexibility and adaptability to varying responsibilities, as well as a strong sense of integrity and accountability, are essential.
