Overview

Responsibilities

  • Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.
  • Monitor residents' wellbeing, identify changes impacting care and care plans, ensure new needs are met, and update written records accordingly.
  • Be involved in the person-centered care planning process, by implementing, monitoring and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Support residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertake staff supervisions and support staff development where required.
  • Act as a key point of contact for residents, their relatives and visitors, and for health and social care professionals, ensuring reasonable requests are acted upon and concerns or complaints are escalated.

About you

  • Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • Have 2 years experience working in a similar care environment.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Have a positive attitude to supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
  • Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.

Please note this role will require:

  • A DBS Disclosure check, the cost of which will be met by Avery Healthcare.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.

Person Specification

  • To be successful, you will need an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes, 2 years' experience working in a similar care environment, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • You will also need to demonstrate a positive attitude to supporting and nurturing residents and staff, and be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and, as such, it will be necessary to submit for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
